Responsibilities:
This position is for a senior engineer providing engineering support for the development and manufacture of sensor products. A good candidate will be able to translate customer specifications into engineering design, design the sensor mechanical and electrical interfaces, select materials, build prototypes and verify the product design. In this position the successful candidate will participate in vendor selection and qualification and develop facilities, equipment, assembly instructions and process plans for manufacturing lines per QS-9000.

Skills and Requirements:

• Bachelors in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent
• 5+ years experience in sensor or similar product design including materials selection, mechanical design

Product qualification and manufacturing setup.

• Experience in manufacturing processes such as plastic molding, ultrasonic and laser welding, sensor packaging
• Knowledge of microelectronic metals and metal joining processes
• Knowledge of PCB and circuit board fabrication and manufacturing
• Knowledge of polymer selection and testing
• Experience in vendor selection and audits
• Ability to work in a team environment and willingness to travel overseas
• Strong problem solving skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, and experience interfacing with other engineers, designers, production personnel, and suppliers
• Familiarity with applicable industry and military standards desired
